Public Access to Information and Confidentiality

As a partner network committed to transparency and responsible governance, the eSHIFT Partner Network aligns with the principles of public access to information, ensuring that our operations are open to scrutiny while respecting necessary confidentiality.

In Switzerland, the principle of public access to official documents allows individuals the right to request and review public documents, promoting transparency in government and organizational activities. As an organization, we adhere to similar principles, where documents generated, received, or sent within the eSHIFT Partner Network are considered official documents and may be accessible upon request.

However, access to such documents is balanced by confidentiality obligations. A confidentiality review, similar to the Swiss principle of "secrecy test," is conducted to ensure that sensitive information is protected. This includes safeguarding personal data, proprietary information, and other content governed by specific legal regulations.

For example, research funding applications or collaborative project proposals within our network may contain publicly accessible information but may also include confidential details. These documents are carefully reviewed to ensure that while we maintain transparency, we also protect intellectual property rights and personal information.

The eSHIFT Partner Network remains committed to promoting an environment where transparency and confidentiality coexist, fostering trust and collaboration among all stakeholders.
